... Last week I had a task to write an essay "An Ideal School as I See It".
Surely the place where I study is one of the best in the city, but I want to change some things. For example, I think it would be nice for the students to choose the subjects they want to study. As for me, I'd choose Maths, Chemistry and History.
What is an "ideal school" for you? How should the classrooms be equipped? Do you think it's necessary to have the school rules? Why?

Victory Day in Russia is a national holiday that is held on 9th May. It officially marks the day when the World War II ended in 1945 and the main reason for the celebration is to remember the people who died or took part in the war in different ways. For example, some citizens who did not fight had to work in the factories making guns.
For the Soviet Union, the war started on the 22nd of June 1941. A day before, on the 21st of June, in all schools of the country there was a party - the last school ball. Girls and boys had just finished school. They were dancing, dreaming of the future and did not know that the following day, they would go to war and never come home again. For the Soviet Union the war lasted for 4 years. It was a very hard time for everyone. In many cities and villages there was starvation. Millions of Soviet people died in this war. But they won and became heroes to every Russian person.
Since then 68 years have passed but Russian people do not forget their heroes. On 9th May, people lay flowers on graves, veterans watch or take part in military parades wearing their medals. In Moscow in the Red Square you can see the most spectacular one. In every city concerts are held. War veterans are invited to schools to speak to students. They are heartily greeted with flowers and presents. At night on Victory Day people watch amazing fireworks bringing joy, pride and sadness to their hearts.

Here are some facts
about our city:
Zelenograd is a city, which forms one of the administrative okrugs of Moscow. It is located 37 kilometers from the center of Moscow. The city color is green and its emblematic animal is the squirrel.
Zelenograd was founded in 1958 as a city of the future. New city construction started in 1960 on a previously empty, forested place. In record-breaking time the powerful scientific and production basis for electronic industry was created. Before 1989 Zelenograd was a closed city: it was prohibited to take photos in the central parts of the city, near the plants, teaching and research facilities and foreigners were not admitted into the city.
Zelenograd was one of the most powerful centers of electronics, microelectronics and computer industry in the Soviet Union, and it still plays a similar role in modern Russia. It was developed as a reflection of the California Silicon Valley and known also as Soviet/Russian Silicon Valley.
In 1988, Zelenograd incorporated the former village of Kryukovo, one of the important sites during the Battle of Moscow. It was the place where German forces came the closest to Moscow during World War II. Now several monuments are located in Kryukovo and in the surrounding area.
